California Strawberry Festival
Each summer, Oxnard hosts the California Strawberry Festival at Oxnard College, featuring vendors as well as food items based on strawberries such as strawberry nachos, strawberry pizza, strawberry funnel cake, strawberry sundaes, and strawberry champagne. With live musical entertainment, over 300 Arts & Crafts, 50 food booths with yummy berry favorites, gooey contests, the Strawberry Promenade, Star Berry Hunt, Strawberryland For Kids, and more, it’s the perfect celebration of the region’s agricultural heritage with proceeds benefiting more than 40 Southland charities.
Herzog Wine Cellars
The Herzog family has been making wine for a long time, and in 1985, they decided to expand their winemaking operations to California, where they make wine under two separate labels: Baron Herzog and Herzog Wine Cellars. After twenty years of renting space in various wineries, the family was finally able to build its own state-of-the-art winery in the town of Oxnard. At this 77,000 square foot winery, dedicated to fine winemaking and wine tasting, you can experiecne self-guided winery tours, wine tastings, an acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant, and a well-stocked gift shop. |
